The Folk Approach

I believe that quality care through the childbearing continuum is an essential birthright, belonging to the people.

“Folk” reclaims the simple, communal traditions that have always carried us through transformative seasons.

every village had caregivers—neighbors, healers, generational wisdom-keepers—who knew just what to tend to after a birth. A warm meal, gentle hands, a listening ear. That kind of care never stopped being needed. It just got harder to find.

The Folk Doula is my love letter to that lost art of tending: slow, grounded, and made with real life in mind.

I’m Hannah, a postpartum doula, integrative wellness coach, herb-loving kitchen companion, and second pair of hands with a soft landing built in. Whether I’m helping you prep the nursery, cook your freezer meals, unravel a tricky sleep stretch, or just cry it out over tea, I’m here to hold you while you hold everything else.

This is grounded, full-circle support for the messy, magical in-between.

Holistic, but not woo-woo. Evidence-based, but full of heart.

Always personal, never prescriptive.

You don’t have to do this alone. Let’s rebuild the village— one visit, one bowl of soup, one real conversation at a time.

  • "Hire Hannah. We are so glad we did! She is a breath of fresh air and exactly what you need in the early postpartum days. She has a magical way of putting you and your baby at ease the moment she arrives. I knew I needed a little break and extra set of hands, but what I got what so much more. In addition to the meals, laundry, and nurturing care for my sweet baby, she is the best listener to all the real things you're going through. I would hire her again in a heartbeat!"

  • "During such a vulnerable and transitory time in our lives, Hannah was a warm, personable, and supportive presence. She is very organized, a fantastic cook, and made me feel so loved and cared for postpartum. If you're not sure if you need the additional support, Hannah is well worth your resources. She comes from a place of encouraging rest and healing for new mothers, which is so needed in our culture. Highly recommend!"

    —Devin H.

  • "We love Hannah!!!! She took amazing care of our baby overnight for several weeks while we dealt with a family medical issue. She is so kind and caring that we immediately felt comfortable with her and knew she would be the perfect person to take care of our son. I love her empathy and understanding of how babies experience the world. I absolutely recommend working with Hannah to any parents who need help or a break (which of course is all of us!). There is nothing like the gift of a good night's sleep, especially when dealing with other stressful circumstances. Hannah has been an amazing blessing to our family, and we are so grateful to her."

  • "Hannah is the absolute best. If you need postpartum support she’s your gal. As a Twin Cities chiropractor and midwife I know how important it is to get quality care and support during the childbearing seasons and I trust her to take care of all the mamas and babies I work with as well as my very own baby. I always knew that my baby was in great hands with Hannah. She was attentive, gentle and kind to him and it was clear to see that she had a wealth of experience with little ones. My baby also absolutely adores her and was always in the best mood while under her care. I’m so glad to have Hannah as a resource for moms when they need it the most!"
