Folk Market

In response to the recent events in my city of Minneapolis, these designs were created as a way to wear our values and stand in solidarity with families and communities under threat. The Folk Doula believes that caregiving is resistance, birthwork is political, and parenting is a radical act of hope and defiance in a world that tries to separate families.

resistance apparel for mutual aid

100% of proceeds will go to mutual aid in Minnesota supporting immigrant families, parents, babies, and children.

  • The Immigrant Rapid Response Fund (IRRF) was created by a group of philanthropic leaders close to the communities most impacted to ensure that resources move quickly and responsibly during immigration-related emergencies. As enforcement actions, policy changes, and sudden disruptions continue to impact families, IRRF provides fast, community-informed funding to trusted organizations responding on the ground.

Funds are directed to organizations working on:

    • Mobilizing and organizing communities to support and protect immigrants

    • Providing food, housing, and other essential emergent supports in response to attacks

    • Delivering legal services that defend rights and ensure due process

The fund will prioritize emerging needs while also considering ongoing and long-term well-being in impacted communities.

Where Your Support is Going

  • In the last week HMC been working alongside metro based networks getting food and critical supplies—especially diapers and formula—to trusted partners and directly to families across the metro; not just here in the midway.

For many people, these resources are what make it possible to stay safe, stable, and supported right now. Information below. We have so far collected and distributed over 100,000 diapers, dozens of canisters of formula, and too many butt wipes to count.  No parent should ever have to choose between diapers and paying their bills or putting food on the table. And no parent, anywhere, should have to fear being brutalized, beaten, or separated from their children simply for trying to access food, formula, or diapers for their babies.

  • Focus on helping trans and immigrant refugees with rent, groceries, medical expenses, infant and children's items, and rides. Select Sanctuary and Resistance Fund to ensure that every dollar goes directly to people who need it and not to church operations.
